Sick in Colorado

It’s a terrible thing to be in a wonderfully beautiful place, with huge mountains looming to the west (Boulder, Colorado), and to be sick. It’s also a terrible thing to be attending fantastically interesting lectures when your brain is too fuzzy to follow very much of anything. However, I remain optomistic – I’m hoping I’ll be well by the weekend, when I’ll be able to take out my hiking map and actually enjoy the outdoors.

I’m also planning on joining the gym for my remaining time here (it seems silly to pay to use the gym when I’m sick), and I’m looking into the possibility of renting a bike. It turns out that downtown Boulder is really very nice and charming, while the area around the university is full of college kids. I want to hang out with the grown-ups. The downtown is easily accessible on a bike (and Boulder has a great set of bike paths), but difficult of foot (the energy barrier is just too high for me to walk there).
